Stella, my sweet Stella.
Updated: Dec 3, 2018
As many people know, I give names to just about everything in my life. My houses, my vehicles, my plants etc. Stella is no different, she was my Jeep Wrangler. This story focuses on our bond and communication.
I remember the day I saw her, I knew immediately we were connected and we were going to have a wonderful journey together. She was absolutely perfect! We made a pact. I would take the best care of her and she was expected to do the same. She got a bath at least 3 times a week usually 5, always tucked into a garage a night, and maintenance immediately if needed or as manufacturer suggested. I figured we would be together forever. Imagine my surprise, when I heard about a soft whisper about 3 years in. It's time to sell Stella. WHAT?!? No Thank you. We have a pact. I was beyond shocked, I couldn't even bring myself to tell anyone. A few weeks later I heard it again. Again, I replied, no thank you. However, I did begin to think about why did I keep hearing this? One morning, she wouldn't start. Nothing. I couldn't believe it! She was supposed to run like a champ and today she wouldn't even start? Turns out, she needed a battery, just a battery. I can deal with that. A few days later her rear defrost light was blinking. Now what?!? The connection of the defrost wire had come loose. A little super glue and she was back to 100%. I am thinking we are good to go, until on an unusually warm day we were at a stop light with the A/C cranked and out of nowhere, the cold air stops and I am overtaken by HOT air. I sat shocked and confused. Just as I sat up a little straighter to reach my controls, the cold air was back. Completely puzzled and still waiting on the red light, the message became clear. It was time to let her go. I said with a heart full of sadness and gratitude, I hear you Stell, I will get you ready. ( mechanic confirmed just a fluke incident ) Within 2 weeks I met the new owners of Stella. I found a wonderful retired couple getting ready to move to Arizona and get out of these cold winters. Ding, Ding, Ding...there it was. ( explanation of the heat blast ) Stella was telling me she wants out of the cold. To think, this all started with a whisper...
Thank you #Stella, I will always hold a special place for you. The adventures, the memories, the love. You couldn't have been in my life at a better time. Enjoy AZ!
